Classical demonstration about determinism and ignorance — NOT quantum mechanics; claims nothing about nature. Mechanism: N copies of one deterministic system (a double pendulum, or three combined clockwork rotors), same physics, differing only by the same starting uncertainty; after that, zero randomness. Pendulum: exact RK4 integration of the double-pendulum equations of motion — nearby copies diverge exponentially (chaos), and the cloud thins into structureless haze. Rotors: three phases turning at fixed incommensurate frequencies (ratios 1 : √2 : φ, each with a small 0.7% frequency spread across copies) — nearby copies drift apart in phase, not in space, and slowly weave a lace-like standing pattern instead of erasing. Same uncertainty, same determinism, different fate — that contrast is the structural fingerprint quantum mechanics actually has, and it redirected the whole project. back
